Awards Ceremony for Plant Salespeople

P1010072webP1010067web
Some people have "green thumbs" - but many Barton students must have "green tongues" if we are to judge by the huge quantities of plants they sold in the annual plant sale. Today the talented salespeople were rewarded with ribbons and trophies. Plant sale ringleader Mary Ann Fabel, dressed literally from head to toe in flowers, handed out hundreds of awards in a ceremony in the Commons today.

Camping Adventure

060204camping_011webThree classrooms of young Barton campers (Marilynn O’Donnell’s 1-2, Kristin Sonquist’s 1-2, and Mark Downing’s 2-3) headed out to Baker Park Reserve for an overnight camping trip. The rain held off, and good preparation kept the kids from getting too chilly in their tents. Teams of kids and parents helped with meals and cleanup. In between there was time for sports, nature walks and a mapping exercise, music around the campfire, and a little fishing. Click here for more pictures.
