Before-School Picnic Slated for Barton Families

Join other Barton families for a back-to-school get together Monday, August 30, from 5:00-7:30 PM. The Barton Leadership Council is sponsoring a potluck at Beard’s Plaisance picnic grounds on the west side of Lake Harriet [map and directions]. The potluck offers a great chance to meet other families in the school. The Leadership Council will provide beverages and will also organize the event in a way that parents can get to know others in their children’s classes before the school year is in full swing. Watch for details in the August school newsletter mailed to Barton families.

NEW! View the flyer about the potluck - including details on what food to bring.

District Community Engagement Process

The Community Engagement Collaborative, hired by the Minneapolis Public School (MPS) Board to implement a community-wide listening and learning process, has set dates, times and locations for a series of discussions with community members that will provide the School Board with guidance as they make future decisions about Minneapolis Public Schools.*
