Visitors from Iceland
Fourteen teachers from Ingunnarskóli, a school in Reykjavik, Iceland, visited us on Tuesday, November 2. They were interested in learning about the philosophy of open education for a new school they were going to be moving into soon. They were viewing the key components of open education as individualized learning, multi-age teaching and project based teaching. They met with grade level teams of Barton teachers throughout the day, visited classrooms and asked a lot questions about how teachers plan and organize their work, how they teach to multi-grades and how student work is evaluated. They posted these pictures from their visit to Barton.
