Baby Animals and Big Kids

Barn_2 Cow Kate's Room 114 kindergartners and Robin's kindergartners and 1st graders all visited Hugo Animal Farm in Hugo Minnesota Thursday, May 24th.  Hold it, wasn't that the day it RAINED ALL DAY!?!?!?   Yes, it was a rainy day but nothing could dampen the fun the children, teachers and plucky parent volunteers had at the farm.  We got to hold baby chicks, bunnies, puppies and kittens.  We petted baby pigs, cows, goats and horses.  We ate our lunch and even went for a hayride...in the rain!  To see more pictures from the farm, click here.

Challange04 Challenge01

Challenge02 Challenge06

The third and fourth grade challenge students pose in their play costumes.  They wrote original scripts and performed their plays for parents and students on May 25, 2007.

The same day, their teacher, Lisa Lange, was presented with an Allianz Award for her work with the students around healthy living.  35 teachers received the national award of $1,000 for outstanding work using the Blue Zones curriculum.  For more information go to bluezones.com.
