Plant Sale Pick-up Friday and Saturday!!

Don't forget that your plants are available for pick-up at Barton on Friday, May 9,  2:00 - 7:00 PM and Saturday, May 10, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM.  Please wait until 2:00 on Friday to pick up your plants to make sure to allow bus traffic to go smoothly.

VOLUNTEERS are still needed to help during the pick-up times.  Please call Nancy Polacek if you are available for a shift on Friday or Saturday (612-823-3640). 

WAGONS are needed to assist customers in filling their orders.  If you are have a wagon to loan us, please drop it off in the front hallway in school before Friday.  Please label your wagon with your family name and phone number.

Plant Sale Extended to Thursday

The deadline for the annual Barton plant sale has been extended.  Thursday, April 24  is the VERY LAST DAY  to turn in plant sale order forms.

Our 26th Annual Plant Sale is underway! Students have been given a supply of order forms. An order form is also available on this site under the heading ANNUAL PLANT SALE in the right-hand column.  You can print extra forms or view plant sale information and instructions there.  Photos and descriptions of the plants are also available, so tell your friends and neighbors to have a look if they are not sure what to order.

Rug Raffle For Barton School

This week, the Barton Leadership Council launched our traditional raffle fund-raiser.  A generous donation of a beautiful 8' X 10' oriental rug from the Navab Brothers Oriental Rug Company is the featured prize.  Students will be selling tickets for 5 weeks, with the drawing to take place at our family Harmony Theme Night on December 13th. 

Family and friends who are not within door-knocking distance may want a chance to win the rug and support our school.  You can direct them to the links at the upper right corner of this site for information and photos.  Try the email feature if you have email addresses handy! 

Plant Sale Pick-Up This Friday and Saturday!

If you ordered plants last month, please remember to pick them up at Barton this Friday, 2 - 7:00 p.m.  and Saturday, 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.  Please, please, please check in at the tent at school before you select your plants.

Last Weekend to Sell Green Plants!

Plant Sale order forms are due back to school on Monday, April 16.  The weather should finally cooperate this weekend, so if you haven't already, help your child talk to neighbors and friends about the sale.  You can print out additional order forms and get more information by clicking on the links underneath the pansy photo in the ANNUAL PLANT SALE are to the right. 

Plants are available for pickup at Barton on May 11-12, the Friday and Saturday before Mother's Day.  If you wish, you can mail the order form and check to Barton School, 4237 Colfax Ave S., Minneapolis, MN  554109.

What:  Microsoft Vista Launch Sweepstakes

When:  Tuesday, January 20th, during business hours (10 AM - 9 PM)

Microsoft is launching their new operating system called Windows Vista on January 30, 2007.  To support the launch, Microsoft is holding events across the country at select Best Buy stores.  In conjunction with the event, families coming to the Richfield Best Buy store can enter themselves to win an Xbox 360 and at the same enter their school for a chance to win a $25,000 grant.

If you're near the Richfield Best Buy on Tuesday, stop in and enter Barton in the sweepstakes!  Spread the word!

Silent Auction, Marketplace, and Measurement Olympics Success

Thanks to the entire community for the wonderful support given to our part-fund raiser, part-festive celebration and part-curriculum sharing event in December!  $13,880 was the total raised for Barton School at the Silent Auction and Marketplace.   An additional $1,660 (half of the marketplace total) was donated to the Animal Humane Society in Golden Valley and the International Rescue Committee to help with Darfur relief work.  Here's a photo of the jam-packed Marketplace hallway.
